Xbox 360 insanity

Usa Today has a story about some problems occurring outside of Walmart. All I can really say is . . . what a bunch of idiots.
First off, what is the big deal?

Fork over $400.00 for something that will definitely be available before Christmas. Does anyone really believe that Microsoft of all companies would be willing to throw away Christmas sales of it's Xbox 360? So you don't get it today. Consider it a blessing that you didn't get screwed out of $400.00 - yet.

Take into consideration this article. Turns out the Xbox 360 isn't all that. I imagine I irritated some hardcore gamer by suggesting they are getting screwed. Well, that's what I believe. First off, in order to play all the Xbox games you bought before the 360 came out ( at about $50 a pop ) you will have to spend an additional $100 bucks. Yep, there's two models. One for $299.00 and one for $399.00. Like I said, if you want to play your old games on the new system, fork over more money. Curiously enough, Microsoft sent many more of the $299.00 models than the super-duper one's. Just how much will you paying if you want one of the new Xbox 360 games? Well, here's one from Amazon. Not only are you paying more for consoles, but the games will cost you an additional $10. The best and newest games used to cost $49.99 at most retailers. Now it's $59.99.

I don't know about any other gamers out there, but I really am not impressed by throwing a DVD player and music player into my gaming console. Hello? I want to play games with my game console. I have a dvd player. I have a stereo/radio/cd player. I don't need the added expense. Just give me a game player and let me save the money so I can buy games. If I want to go re-buy a dvd player, etc . . I'm not going to buy one from Microsoft. And where do you get off charging more for the same old, tired game titles. Do something original. At least try to justify the fact you're taking more money out of my pocket by impressing me with something new and innovative. Don't try to justify it with blah, blah, blah, better graphics, blah, blah, blah, home media center, blah, blah, blah. I always thought the graphics on the PS2 and Xbox suited me just fine.

So. As you might expect, I wasn't one of those knuckleheads standing out in front of [InsertYourStoreHere] waiting to hand over my money. And, I don't expect to do it anytime soon.
